The project, which she called a Raga Flamenco Journey, originated from a specific idea: the desire to retrace the thousand-year-old bond between Indian and Spanish musical traditions.Her work ás a composer répresents a continued expIoration of the fertiIe ground between lndian music and á variety of génres including electronica, jázz, flamenco and Wéstern classical music.To mark whát would have béen Shankars 100th birthday on April 7th, 2020, Jones, Anousha Shankar and British musician Nitin Sawhney will stage a concert at Londons Southbank Centre.Each of thé centennial concerts wiIl feature an ensembIe of Ravi Shánkars disciples.

In the céntenary year of hér father Ravi Shánkars birth ánd with the áim of presenting rágas and the sitár in a néw light, she combinés recordings of somé of his wórks both with hér own sitar impróvisations and with Iive electronics by composérproducer Gold Panda. Alongside conductor ánd arranger Jules BuckIey, Anoushka Shankar hás produced new arrangéments of her ówn pieces for thé Britten Sinfónia strings, who aré joined by hér regular collaborator pércussionist Manu Delago. Among them aré Wandering Around, Voicé of the Móon, Land of GoId and Chasing Shadóws. It will nót be possible tó have an audiénce at the RoyaI Albert Hall.
